Cabin Fever

Cabin Fever

My apologizes for my lack of posts this week. This is the worst winter we’ve had as long as I’ve lived here, the only thing I’m cooking this week are winter comfort foods like pot roast and vegetable soup, and I honestly just don’t have anything to say.

But I know there are some of you who come here every day (or at least once or twice a week) and I feel like I owe you…something. But the truth is I haven’t seen the sunshine in at least a week (the header photo was from last winter), I’ve been caring for my children, one of them sick, for 72+ hours, I haven’t put on makeup or fixed my hair in two days (I do shower…I can’t NOT shower), and I’m mostly in hibernation. I am reading a great book I’m excited to tell you about… if I ever get it finished. Some weeks I have a ton to say, and others I go literally days without a single thought worth sharing. I don’t think I’ve ever been so excited to see spring. Most winters I get stuck up on our hill a handful of days between the beginning of December and the end of March. This year, I’ve been stuck up here at least one day a week since mid-December. Unlike my father-in-law who would some days be happy to stay on this hill for weeks at a time, I get restless after about 24 hours.

So just know it is one of those weeks. It’s supposed to be sunny tomorrow – or if not then Friday. We have some awesome friends coming to visit this weekend, and I have a couple crafty projects in mind to try to work out soon. So bear with me as I sit holed up in my warm house with two toddlers, and know that I haven’t forgotten about my blog – or my readers. I’m just bored. :-)
