This is me (below, right) and my friend Whitney. We have been friends for approximately 18 years and four months. Approximately.
(Woah – how long? And how on earth did that happen? We were in diapers…that’s it. Mere infants.)

She can be a little silly, which is one thing I love about her.

Whitney just so happens to have one of the most awesome families I know. She has a lovely mom.

And two lovely sisters. One is a bit camera shy, so she stayed just off to my right when I had the camera out. But trust me – she’s just as lovely as the rest of them.

And guess what they did today – baked cookies! And guess who they invited – ME! (And my kids – who played with their kids, so it was a good time for all ages.) We made some of these.

And these.

And let’s not forget these.

And about half a dozen other varieties. I have enough cookies to last a month. Not that they’ll make it that long. Someone even got her fingers stuck in the cooling rack. I’m not naming any names, though.

I had the. best. time. It was one of those days when I wonder, why don’t we do things like this more often? In my opinion, something magical happens when you get a house full of women together (and I’m not even talking about the deliciousness going on in the mixing bowls).

Thanks for inviting me, girls. I had a really, truly wonderful time. For all the rest of you, get together with your girlfriends. You are probably overdue.
Awww, Kelli. You’re the sweetest. I had a really, truly wonderful time, too. And for all you blog followers out there, not only is Kelli a super-duper friend (yay for me), she’s a super-duper cookie maker (yay for everyone). Mmmmmm!
“Cookie Day” was a whole lot of fun! By the way, the next day we discovered two pans of fudge that were set on the living room fireplace mantle to cool…lack of space in the kitchen.
Oh Kelli, I love this! Let’s do it again. You’re welcome at our girly get-togethers anytime…everytime! XOXO
This is cute… I need to know what that apron says. It starts “I’m still a HOT BABE…
